2009-10-27 Update: Our Planet and White Orchid offline

Webscammers.net has been contacted a number of times in the past 4 or 5 months with information about Ryan's whereabouts and activities - notably his failure to pay rent at two separate residences, threatening other tenants, stealing their property, and that a car he'd claimed to own was actually a rental car which he had failed to even pay the rental for.

On the positive side, reports that he had managed to obtain work as an actor, and that a new girlfriend was making efforts to help him turn his life around.

The principle objections of Webscammers.net were against Ryan's dubious-at-best network of companies and humanitarian aid projects and organisations, under names including Living Legends, Global Energy, Political Change, Real Global Solutions, Conscientious Traveler, Traveller 2.0, The White Orchid Foundation and, more recently, Our Planet UK (including Our Planet Retreats). Ryan also created a site apparently promoting a reality TV dating show he was starting, though Ryan's discussion of about it with Webscammers.net is that it was created as an intended fake for the purposes of testing friendship/loyalty of some colleague(s) or other.

It seems that Ryan has moved away from these charity-like propositions (though Webscammers.net is informed that he still has interest in involvement with organisations run by others), and it is now noted that some of his previous websites are no longer active.

2010-01-24 Update: 3 more sites noted as inactive/deleted.

Some of Ryan's related sites and pages are still online, if not "active" (at least not recently updated), including:

2009-02-05 Update: Content shuffle

Due to the recent change in the nature of content posted in the Updates section and the mess on the front page, I have created a new Communications section for things like emails and Submissions. Some articles have been recategorised and some articles no longer appear on the front page.

2008-09-25 Update: Site URLs changed

The Ryan Flynn Information site's base address has been changed from http://webscammers.net/rfinfo to http://webscammers.net/ryan-flynn

This could aid people searching for information about "Ryan Flynn", since they will not be entering "rfinfo" as a search term. Hopefully search engine indicies will be updated when they discover the redirects. Meanwhile, the old URLs should redirect to the new address.

There is also a new (though basic) favicon to replace the previous one (which was the Joomla! logo).

2008-09-10 Update: Serious accusations from White Orchid

Webscammers.net's attention has been drawn to updated 'information' on the main White Orchid Foundation website.

Webscammers is a hate site, by who we are not sure but this does not matter.

In the next few weeks, this will all be dealt with by Scotland Yard, London, UK.

After a long time of just letting things ride out, we are in talks with Scotland Yard, Atlanta PD and Chicargo PD and 2 other police departments.

Below is an extract from the webscammers site.

We would like to say ask anyone who sees that site to really investigate everything that is claimed. Half the links don’t work. Unless you also hate Ryan, they will tell you ‘your a fool’

A direct quote from someone talking with them reads ‘we do not have any hard evidence against Ryan, but we want to put him behind bars’, when asked why? They started accusing that person of being Ryan.

Of course Ryan is an easy target, but who are the people behind these hate sites?

Also, if Ryan had done anything criminal, why has he not been arrested?

Why do sites take down abuse these people create? Because it breaks terms and conditions. Ryan did not break them, but these people have.

The people involved in this on-line hate campaign will be charged with all or some of the following - Liable, Slander, Stalking on-line, Stalking in real life and threats on life. After a series of phone calls which threatened peoples lives.

Webscammers - Hate Site (retrieved 2008-09-20)

The "extract from the webscammers site" on the page is actually from the rfinfo.wordpress.com site, and the alleged quote is neither from nor known to webscammers.net. The reference to "abuse" taken down from other sites can only possibly refer to the closure of the furl.net account, for which a complaint had been made (likely by Ryan) about the content. The only publicly visible content at that time was, it is believed, a single link to this site at webscammers.net; a link which appears (or at least has in the past) on Ryan's own site for the White Orchid Foundation. Ryan has had at least one account disabled/deleted on the CouchSurfing.com site for inappropriate behaviour (cross posting across mutiple forums, promoting a commercial interest, etc), and also used the service with at least one false name. CouchSurfing.com management are keen to be notified of any other profiles suspected to be operated by Ryan as he has repeatedly broken the terms and conditions.

Webscammers.net has no knowledge of any threats made to Ryan, other than reading allegations made by Ryan on his own websites. Webscammers.net has thus far not had any direct contact with Ryan - at least not knowing with any certainty. Ryan has not contacted Webscammers.net using his own name, though it appears he may have written a message posing as another person (who mysteriously never replied to the email sent back to them). It is also possible that a message was sent to Ryan, either by email or through a website not known to be controlled by Ryan.

Webscammers.net did post a comment to the White Orchid website on the (so far as can be remembered) Responding to our Critics page:

*WEBSCAMMERS.NET <http://webscammers.net>* (17:55:19) : Your comment is awaiting moderation

To clarify, rfinfo.wordpress.com and webscammers.net are not created by the same person. webscammers.net will hopefully fill your need for ‘bad comment’ that is more than opinion, as well as the opinion.

The comment has not to date appeared on the White Orchid site, but it is assumed that Ryan has read it.

Please do verify information presented on Webscammers.net with your own research. Webscammers.net has attempted to preserve copies of various sites and pages that are no longer available. Some things are still out in the wild to be found, and you can probably draw a clear enough picture from those.

Webscammers.net has not (yet) been contacted by any authorities, though Ryan's claim will be investigated, and so the police are about to become properly involved.

2008-08-05 Update: furl.net account closure

Some time in June 2008, a complaint was made by Ryan (or someone within one of his "organisations") about the rfinfo account at furl.net. The complaint was reviewed by Furl's legal team and the account was subsequently closed. After I made an enquiry about the closure, the Furl team reopened the account. I marked all links as private and exported the archive contents. After the creation of webscammers.net, a single public link was placed in the furl.net account to http://webscammers.net/rfinfo ... A month passed, then this email arrived from the Furl team:

We have just received a second complaint regarding your account. Your account has been closed due to TOS violation.

Regards,
The Furl Team

Webscammers.net is not especially affected by the closure of the furl.net account, but that a complaint was made is quite interesting. Perhaps it was in frustration/retaliation to the recent webscammers.net update(s). The response to furl.net follows.

Furl,

thankyou for reopening the rfinfo account in the beginning of June to allow access to the entered information, and for (this time) emailing to inform of the reclosure of the account. I would like to note at this point that the rfinfo account had, to my knowledge, only a single public link - to http://webscammers.net/rfinfo - which is therefore assumed to be the content about which a complaint was made.

It is a sad state of affairs that conmen, scam artists and worse (organised crime syndicates, etc), who absolutely do use tools such as the internet and its innumerate online services to further their illegitimate operations, are better "protected" than the rights of consumers and society as a whole, basically through putting pressure on ill-devised rules and regulations.

Entering "scam" in the search box on the furl.net website yields thousands of results. On many of the hundreds of pages of links presented, some company, organisation or person is named as being involved in a scam. Can anyone make a complaint about any account that contains such a link to cause that account closed? (A "no comment" answer is acceptable for this question.)

As your lawyers appear quite concerned about this "TOS violation", and assumedly the risk posed to your company by Ryan Flynn, I offer to you the following observation: despite the rfinfo account being closed, the search terms "Ryan Flynn", "Ryan White Orchid", "White Orchid Foundation", "Ryan Living Legends", "TravelBlag", "Conscientious Traveler", "Ryan Our Planet", "Ryan Blood Rose" and more yield the http://webscammers.net/rfinfo page as the first (or near-to-first) result.

2008-08-01 Update: Our Planet UK's registered address

Webscammers.net visited the registered UK business address of Our Planet UK (Level 2, 145-157 St John Street London) and found it to be that of The Made Simple Group, a business which allows other companies to use their address. There is no other connection with Our Planet UK. Webscammers.net spoke with an employee who confirmed that Our Planet UK have a service with them (registered to an Australian address), as does the old Living Legends Limited. These accounts will be reviewed by management.

2008-07-30 Update: Free Spirit Spheres

Webscammers.net has discovered the source of the spheres that Our Planet Retreats are supposedly going to use for their retreats: Free Spirit Spheres, based on Vancouver Island, Canada. Team member 'Tom' from the Our Planet Retreats 'The Team' page (archived copy, 2008-08-02) and his spheres are real, but the nature of the relationship with Our Planet UK / Our Planet Retreats is not yet clear.
